Rob Bernosky
What did the 700+ member Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce have to say?

Rob Bernosky is a business-savvy candidate who would bring private-industry experience to the Assembly, with positive solutions to the state’s budget problems and a commitment to revitalize the state’s business climate. He is a former elementary school trustee, current Chief Financial officer and specialist in turning around businesses in distress. He brings direct experience in agriculture, a businesses perspective and common sense, all of which are much needed in our state government. He is an advocate for the public school system and in today’s climate this is important for business, families and the future of our kids.

Assemblyman Luis Alejo cannot be supported in his desires for a second term as he will continue to discourage local investment, vote in lock-step to support job-killing legislation and propose anti‐business measures such as automatically indexing minimum wage to inflation.

What did the Monterey County Farm Bureau Have to Say?
Rob Bernosky brings a fresh perspective to the Assembly district, having already built alliances in Sacramento as evidenced by endorsements from present legislators. Rob supports economic recovery efforts that will provide true growth and stability through meaningful job creation. As a former elementary school trustee, he has proven success in turning around dire financial situations into positive outcomes. His current business perspective will allow Rob to use his experience in crafting legislation that improves California’s business climate. Rob has proven that he understands the importance of Agriculture to the State of California and vows that he will work to reduce regulatory burdens for all business.

Thank You!

It has been a honor  to be your candidate for State Assembly and I cannot thank everyone enough who supported me financially, volunteered for my campaign, and took my telephone calls, texts, and e-mails from the campaign trail.  I faced impossible odds due to party registration statistics and party-line politics, but there were still so many of you that supported me.  I am truly grateful.  The results of our efforts were fantastic in terms of percent of vote received above party registration.  What we know from this is that the message we were carrying resonated with a lot of people both Democrats and Republicans.  This has not gone unnoticed in the political world.

Specifically, in the primary (which since we elect the "top 2" is really the first of two general elections), I received an outstanding 16.8% above my party registration).  Unfortunately, those results woke up my opponent's campaign and in combination with low Republican turnout in the general election, decreased it to 10.7%.  That is still significant considering I raised a relatively small amount of money.

What could have made a difference?  The stakeholders; businesses, agriculture, trade associations, and individuals, getting involved to make California a friendlier place for business, to provide better educations, and create more opportunity for all to prosper.  Sadly, right now, they do not.  Instead of taking a stand, the vast majority of Republicans and like-minded people and organizations capitulate to the status quo.  This makes all the difference.

I remain involved as county chairman of San Benito County, playing a role in rebuilding our Party from the ground up.  Whether I run for office again or not remains to be seen.  For now, I am focused on my career and reentering the private sector by looking for a chief financial officer position.
